2021 Florence Reinauer Memorial Music Award ($2,000) & The Marjorie Vandervoort Vocal Award ($1,000) Application:
The Ridgewood Choral will be offering our two annual Music Awards – the Marjorie Vandervoort Vocal Award and the Florence Reinauer Memorial Music Award – even though we have cancelled our 2021 Spring Concert. Instead of live auditions, we will be asking candidates who have applied online in the first two weeks of February, to send us video recordings of their audition music. Our panel of judges will decide the winners on March 6th. The winners will then be notified and will receive forthwith $1,000 and $2,000 respectively. We will also give them publicity in the press and on our website, with a link to their music, if they so wish.
Applications are accepted between Monday, February 1, 2021 until Saturday, February 13, 2021. Only the first 12 applications received from high school seniors will be considered.
- To be eligible, you must be a high school senior in a county where we have members currently living – currently, Passaic or Bergen County, NJ, and Rockland County, NY – and intend to continue your musical education at an institute of higher learning.
- Applicants who have applied online in the first two weeks of February, will be asked to send video recordings of their audition music.
- Please video record two or three brief selections, no more than 10 minutes total. These recordings should demonstrate your musical ability and versatility.
